EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 12, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's baseball begins their 2026 season with a three-game series against Missouri at a neutral site in Fort Myers, Florida from February 13-15. The series against the Tigers starts the spring baseball campaign, culminating in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Baseball Championships at Heritage Financial Field in Wappingers Falls, New York from May 20-23.

The Mountaineers ended their 2025 season with a 23-28 overall record while compiling a 15-13 conference record to end the regular season. The Mountaineer bats against Marist in the MAAC Elimination Round started the game off in the bottom of the first after aÂ

Alex Mendes for an early 1-0 lead. But Marist struck back in the top of the second after two runs came in after an error was made by Fredo at third off a bad hop from the dirt. The Red Foxes went onto score another run in the top of the third before falling silent for an inning.Â
Ty Fredo hit out a solo home run into the left field bleachers during the bottom of the fourth inning to cut the deficit to one only for Marist to strike again in the top of the fifth to make it 4-2.
After a shutout sixth inning from both teams, the Red Foxes jumped ahead in the seventh and eighth inning, scoring four runs and three runs in each respective inning. Serigne Sarre pitched 4.1 innings while giving up four hits and only being charged with two earned runs while striking out four Red Foxes. Fredo went 2-4 with an RBI after his fifth inning home run. Cincinnati went 2-4 with an RBI andÂ

TOP RETURNERS

Serigne Sarre will reprise his role as a starter for the team during his second year at the Mount. The sophomore from Silver Spring, Maryland recorded a record of 5-6 through 72.0 IP in 2025 while accruing an ERA of 3.50. Sarre led the MAAC in strikeouts last year with 86 Ks, earning him a spot on the All-MAAC Second Team and All-MAAC Rookie Team in 2025.

Ty Fredo also returns to third base for the Mountaineers in 2026 after ending last season with a batting average of .308, playing in all 51 games for the Mount. Fredo hit nine home runs for the Mountaineers while batting in 43 RBI and recording a team-leading 101 total bases. The junior from West Caldwell, New Jersey also hit 11 doubles, walked 24 times, and stole 28 bases.

Evan Meier returns for his junior year at E.T. Straw Family Stadium off the back of a 2025 season that yielded a batting average of .277 and an OPS of .726. The third-year man from West Point, Virginia also recorded 17 walks, stole 18 bases, and scored 29 runs for the Mountaineers while recording a fielding percentage of .940, completing 78 putouts in the process.

Bryce Rudisill will return to the Mountaineer infield after a breakout, power-hitting freshman year where the local from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania hit 10 home runs and batted in 41 RBI while recording 84 total bases. The rising sophomore remained flawless at first base, recording 359 putouts and aiding in 32 double plays while not recording an error in 49 starts.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS

Mizzou recorded an overall record of 16-39 during the 2025 season while accruing a record of 3-27 in the SEC, sweeping Texas A&M in a three game series while outscoring the Aggies 23-8 across the three games.

Top returns for the Tigers in 2026 include Mateo Serna and Kaden Peer. Serna hit nine home runs, batted in 36 RBI, walked 17 times and scored 26 runs while Peer hit .299, batted in 33 RBI, and scored 34 runs.
