LIVE STATS
EMMITSBURG, MD (October 8, 2026) – As the second half of the Metro Conference season gets into full swing, Mount St. Mary's women's soccer looks to pick up points in critical matches. One such match is Saturday against the Manhattan Jaspers.
MOUNT UPDATE
Abby Makela scored the first goal from a Mount keeper since 2009, using blustery conditions at Niagara Field to carry her clearance into the back of Niagara's net. The Purple Eagles responded with a pair of second half goals to take the contest, 2-1.
Makela's goal was the first in three matches for the Mountaineers. Before that was
Caoume Valle's game winner at Rider back on September 23.
SCOUTING THE JASPERS
Goals come at a premium against Manhattan, surrendering only two in Metro Conference play and five for the entire season. The result is eight positive results in ten matches – six victories and two draws. A strong defense prevents most shots from landing on goal, but when they do, Molly Brunk turns aside 84 percent of them with 26 saves. Lauren Ahearn has the most goals with five.
SERIES HISTORY
Mount St. Mary's is looking for their first win against Manhattan. Both home matches in Emmitsburg have resulted in draws for the Mount, and trips to Riverdale have returned defeats.
UP NEXT
Next Saturday (Oct. 17), the Mount travels to Loudonville, New York to face Siena.
