EMMITSBURG, MD (October 23, 2026) – Before regular season games begin in November, Mount St. Mary's heads to George Mason for one final tune-up on Saturday. The game is at 2 PM, and live stats are available to follow along.

THE 2026-27 TEAM

This year's roster has 16 members, divided into five returners, five transfers, and six true freshmen. Coach Antoine White is entering his sixth season as head coach, with assistant coaches Kelsey Funderburgh and Maria McConnell returning from last season. New to the coaching staff are Mia Andrews, Travis Crandall, and Kendall McGruder.

Headlining the group of returners is senior guard Alana Powell, back for a second season after averaging 8.4 points per game in her junior campaign. Nyodie Guerard is also back for her third year, with the Quebecois junior finishing the sophomore season strong with a career high 14 points at the conference tournament game with Merrimack. Joining them are frontcourt players Wesleigh Ferguson – who made 17 starts as a sparkplug – along with Teodora Ivanovic and Lenora Nkangwen.

Transferring in is graduate student Valentina Saric (Northern Arizona); seniors Nevaeh Ferrara Horne (San Francisco) and Yacine Ndiaye (Rutgers); and juniors Thelma Barbitch (Charleston Southern) and Eva Andrews (North Carolina A&T).

True freshmen include 1,000 point scorer and rebounder Jayla Koser from Middletown Area High School outside Harrisburg, First Team All-Conference Wisconsinite Rachael Chilicki, Ontario native Kiyla Fowler, and in-state representatives Karmen McDuffie and Giselle Wyche, who respectively were semifinalists for states and the Blake High School Bengal of the Year.

SCOUTING GEORGE MASON
The Patriots went 23-10 in 2025-26, including 16-2 in Atlantic 10. They were finalist for the conference championship, falling to #1 Rhode Island, and competing the WBIT postseason tournament. Mount alumnus and Athletics Hall of Famer Vanessa Blair-Lewis serves as head coach and is entering her sixth season at the helm in Fairfax.

Saturday's exhibition will serve as a litmus test for a refreshed Patriots roster, with many of last year's players either graduating or transferring.

THE SEASON AHEAD
