MOUNT STORY LINES
  • Mount St. Mary's fell on the road to Merrimack, 75-65, on Friday afternoon despite Trey Deveaux's season-high 23 points.  Deveaux finished 7-of-11 from the field and 9-of-14 from the foul line en route to his 23-point effort, the 11th 20-point game of his career, and his first as a Mountaineer.  Luke McEldon added 10 points and six boards in the loss.  The Mount shot just 2-of-18 (.111) from three-point range in the game.
  • Quinnipiac swept the season series last year to take a 17-16 lead all-time series with the Mountaineers.  The Mount is 5-12 all-time on the road against the Bobcats, including a 79-70 setback on March 6 last year.  The Mount is 2-4 in MAAC regular season matchups with the Bobcats.
  • Merrimack went 31-for-40 (.775) at the foul line in the Mount's 75-65 loss to the Warriors on Friday afternoon.  It is the second time this season that the Mount's opponent has taken 40 or more free throws in a game.  Maryland went 37-for-47 (.787) at the line in the Mount's 95-90 overtime loss to the Terrapins.  Including this season, the Mount has allowed 40 or more free throws in a game just four times since 2015.
  • Mount St. Mary's has used eight different starting lineups this season, including a different lineup in each of the past four games.  Mason So has started every game this season, and is the lone Mountaineer to play in all 15 games this year.  Injuries have been the main factor for the lineup shuffling as the Mount has lost 62 man-games due to injury this season.
  • Luke McEldon is averaging 14.0 points over the past two games, hitting 14-of-20 (.700) from the field.  McEldon scored 18 points in the Mount's win over Iona before finishing with 10 in the loss to Merrimack on Friday.
  • Trey Deveaux scored a season-high 23 points off the bench in the Mount's 75-65 loss at Merrimack on Friday.  He is the second Mountaineer to score 20 or more points off the bench this season, joining Arlandus Keyes, who had 22 points in the Mount's 95-90 overtime loss at Maryland.  Deveaux's 23-point effort is the most by a Mount player off the bench since De'Shayne Montgomery had 25 in a loss at Fairfield on Feb. 18, 2024.
  • Up next, the Mount returns home for a pair of games, hosting Saint Peter's at 7 pm on Friday, January 9, and Siena at 2 pm on Sunday, January 11.
