EMMITSBURG, Md. (January 21, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's baseball head coach Frank Leoni announced the appointment of Ty Fredo, JB Manarchuck, Bryce Rudisill, and Serigne Sarre as team captains for the upcoming 2026 season on Wednesday.
 
Fredo takes his appointment to the captaincy off the back of a 2025 season that saw the junior from West Caldwell, New Jersey hit .308 with a slugging percentage of .510. Through 51 starts for the Mountaineers, Fredo drove in 43 RBIs, hit nine home runs, drew 24 walks, and scored 47 runs. He also recorded 11 doubles, a triple, and 28 stolen bases.
 
Rounding out the field captains, Rudisill joins the corps of captains in just his second year with the Mountaineers. During 2025, Rudisill recorded a slash line of .250/.467/.387 while sending out 10 long balls and accruing 41 RBIs. The sophomore from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania also drew 26 walks, stole 10 bases, and scored 39 runs in 49 starts.
 
Although injured with only three appearances during 2025, Manarchuck brings a wealth of experience to the pitching captains. In a career 70.2 innings pitched, Manarchuck recorded 74 strikeouts in 35 career appearances for the Mountaineers. Used out of the bullpen for the majority of his Mount career, Manarchuck has accrued a career record of 5-4, going 4-2 in 2024 during his relief appearances.
 
Like Rudisill, Sarre takes charge in just his second year as a Mountaineer while coming off a stunning freshman campaign, with the native of Silver Spring, Maryland being named to the Perfect Game Freshman All-American Second Team. In 2025, Sarre recorded a record of 5-6 while striking out 86 batters in 72.0 innings of work. Recording an opponent batting average of .274, Sarre ended his first year in Emmitsburg with a 3.50 ERA.
