EMMITSBURG, Md. (November 3, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's baseball head coach 
Frank Leoni announced the hiring of Brett Ahalt as assistant coach for the team on Monday. Ahalt joins 
Cory Mee as the second staffing hire of the fall, rounding out the coaching staff ahead of the start of the 2026 season.
 
Ahalt comes to Mount St. Mary's from Towson University where he served as the Tigers Director of Player Development. Prior to his role on the staff, Ahalt finished his college career with Towson, hitting .280 with 13 doubles, five home runs, and 28 RBIs. Over the past year, Ahalt worked as a private instructor for Pease Baseball Professionals in Frederick.
 
In the summer of 2024, Ahalt was hired by the Mid-Atlantic Red Sox as an assistant coach, helping the Frederick based youth team achieve performance goals, foster personal player growth, and facilitate player recruitment.
 
A native of Woodsboro, Maryland, Ahalt was recruited out of high school by Clemson in 2020, being named to the ACC's Top 100 Impact Freshman rankings in 2021. Ahalt graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sport Management from High Point University in December 2024. While playing for High Point, Ahalt was named to the 2023 All-Big South Second Team and the 2024 Preseason All-Big South First Team.
