EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 23, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's men's water polo goalkeeper Sherif Hosni was named the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Defensive Player of the Week by the conference office on Tuesday. His actions in goal at this past weekend's Bucknell Invitational earned Hosni his third defensive weekly award of the 2025 season.
 
Hosni recorded 36 saves in three games in goal for the Mountaineers this past weekend in Lewisburg, including 14 saves along against LIU. The New Zealand international recorded 11 saves against both Salem and Fordham as well during the weekend's play.
 
The goalkeeper also recorded four assists and five completed steals against opponents at the Bucknell invitational, including two assists against Salem, contributing to a 11-2 first half lead for the Mountaineers against the Tigers.

The Mountaineers hit the road next weekend, playing Navy on September 27 in Annapolis followed by a road doubleheader on September 28 against George Washington in D.C. and Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.
