EMMITSBURG, Md. (August 29, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's women's rugby travels to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for their opening match up with La Salle on Saturday, with the Mountaineers looking to begin on the right foot against the Explorers.
Leading the charge is standout junior Anita Manglona, a constant threat on both sides of the ball. Manglona helps set the tone for the Mount's backline and is expected to play a pivotal role in controlling the pace of the match.

Joining her is sophomore Shaniah Mayers, a dynamic force in open play. Known for her agility and powerful carries, Mayers brings an edge to the Mount's attack. Her ability to break tackles and gain ground after contact makes her one, to watch both in transition and broken play scenarios.

Anchoring the forward pack is senior Caliann Dietz, whose relentless work rate and scrummaging prowess have turned heads. Dietz provides stability in set pieces and is a key component of the Mount's defensive structure, often leading the charge in close-contact situations.

With experienced leadership, breakout talent, and a hunger to start the season strong, Mount St. Mary's is poised for a compelling battle. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m., and fans can expect a high-energy contest filled with hard hits, fast breaks, and standout performances.

Kick off is set for 1:00 p.m. in Philadelphia
