EMMITSBURG, Md. (May 27, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's track & field
freshman Brandon Falconer heads to Jacksonville, Florida to compete in the javelin at the 2025 NCAA East First Round, hosted by the University of North Florida.
The men's javelin event is set to begin at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28.
Falconer earned the right to compete this week in his first-ever college meet, throwing the javelin for 69.02 meters at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in late March. Since then, he has competed three more times, earning wins at the 2025 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Outdoor Championships and the Charlotte Invitational.
His distance of 69.02 meters ranks 15
th among NCAA East competitors and is the second best mark in Mount St. Mary's history. The top 12 finishers at the event advance to compete at the NCAA Championships in Oregon in June. The last Mountaineers representative to go to Oregon was Brian Sagendorf in 2021, who is the school record holder for the javelin.
