EMMITSBURG, Md. (May 18, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's track & field had athletes earn All-East honors in several events at the 2025 IC4A/ECAC Championships at George Mason University. In terms of team standings, the men placed eighth and the women placed 13
th.
Competitors garner All-East honors by finishing top eight at the meet. Mount's contingent was led by the triple jumpers of
Caleb Nelson and
Madelyn Valpy, both of whom finished in second place. Nelson completed his longest jump at 14.95 meters and Valpy tallied a jump of 11.92 meters.
Camryn Jones-Howard also made All-East for the triple by finishing third at 11.90 meters, as did
Atebeh Awungjia, whose 14.13 meter jump earned him sixth place.
Arran Fahey took third in the pole vault at 4.99 meters while
Emelie Beckman came in fourth for the women's event at 3.92 meters.
Donovan Harrington finished fourth in the long jump at a distance of 7.15 meters. Jones-Howard added to her triple jump effort with sixth place in the long jump for 5.76 meters. In the discus,
Keighan DeCoff and
Anne Marie Oriakhi came in a respective seventh and eight with 41.41 meters and 41.40 meters.
Abdulazeez Iyiola and
Julia Kirschnick added eighth place efforts in the 110m and 100m hurdles, both tabulating times of 15.44 seconds.
The men's 4x100 relay group added their names to the All-East list too, with the quartet of
Maximus Zitnay,
Lucas Koon-Perez,
Daniel Reader, and
Kalani Pu'uloa compiling a 41.41 second run.
This weekend's event wraps up the season for most of the Mountaineers. Freshman
Brandon Falconer can compete at the NCAA Division I East Preliminary later this month, ranking 15
th in the region for the javelin.
