Arran Fahey Clears the Pole Vault at the MAAC Championships

Fahey, Keffer Victorious to Highlight Mount’s Efforts at Navy, Towson

EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 30, 2025)Arran Fahey and Riley Keffer won their respective events at the Navy Spring Invitational, highlighting Mount St. Mary's efforts both there and at the Towson Spring Invitational over the weekend.
 
Fahey recorded a mark of 4.85 meter mark in the pole vault to win the event in Annapolis. The victory is the senior's fourth this season. Keffer earned an individual victory for the first time in his college career with a personal best time of 3:59.32 for the 1500m. His last win came as a member of the distance medley relay team for Georgian Court at the 2022 East Coast Conference Championships.
 
More top performances at Navy include runner-up efforts from Camryn Jones-Howard and Tierney McCarroll. Jones-Howard posted 5.44 meters in the long jump and McCarroll threw the javelin for 42.85 meters. Further top five performances include Keighan DeCoff (3rd, Discus, 41.65m), Julia Kirschnick (3rd, Pole Vault, 3.80m), Jaidyn Wiselely (3rd, High Jump, 1.50m), Harrison Akoarrey (4th, 100m, 11.01 seconds/5th, 200m, 22.01 seconds), Kamron Wilkerson (4th, 400m, 51.59 seconds), Elizabeth Freymann (4th, 800m, 2:15.21), Najhayane Watson (4th, Triple Jump, 13.50m), Conner Wright (4th, Javelin, 49.24m), Marta Gonzalez Alvaerez (4th, Discus, 38.34m), Lorelai Paxton (4th, Javelin, 38.37m), Ann Marie Oriakhi (5th, Discus, 37.82m) and Rebecca Weir (5th, Javelin, 38.09m).
 
The 4x100 relay team of Akoarrey, Preston Moody, Josh Smith, and Wilkerson added a fifth place running with a time of 43.46 seconds. At the Towson Spring Invitational, the 4x400 team of Kidus Chanyalew, Brandon Smith, Abraham Eason, Shane Pankey also finished fifth with a time of 3:34.39.
 
Headlining individual efforts at Towson were three pole vaulters – Ella Dougher, Evyn Fitzgerald, and Jacey Hentz. Dougher led the trio with a 3.55 meter jump for third place. Fitzgerald came in fourth while Hentz finished seventh – each earned 3.40 meters with Fitzgerald requiring fewer jumps to get there. Hentz also took seventh in the 100m hurdles, and Dougher took ninth in the high jump.  
 
Xavier Suggs, CeCe Bell, Amanda Umbricht, Nesrine Charouel, Jada Creager, JP Pfaff, and Isabella Pla all captured top 10 efforts at Towson.
 
Next weekend, Mount track & field athletes compete at High Point's VertKlasse Meeting and George Mason's Dalton Ebanks Invitational.
