EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 28, 2025) – Cruising through the non-conference portion of the season, Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse looks to improve to 4-1 when they host Bucknell Saturday at Waldron Family Stadium.
 
MOUNT UPDATE
  • A fourth quarter defensive stand helped the Mountaineers prevail over Robert Morris last Wednesday, 13-8. Camille Thomas and the defense limited the Colonials to four shots in the final period, shutting out the competition.
  • Mount is seeking a 4-1 start for the first time since 2020. They are tied for first in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), and the RPI rank is #13, highest among conference schools.
  • Thomas is second in goals against average (9.00) and in saves percentage (.478). The sophomore stopped nine Robert Morris shots in the victory.
  • Madison Harmening tied a career high for goals with four in last Wednesday's game. Six members of the team posted at least one score, with Mackenzi Furlong supplying a hat trick as well.
  • Anna Salerno, Harmening, and Anna McQuay are all top 10 in the MAAC for goals per game. Brooke Molchanoff is top 10 for assists per game. Thomas is on the list for ground balls per game, and Hailey Chester and Molly Molchanoff are there for draw controls per game.
 
SCOUTING THE BISON
  • Through four contests this year, Bucknell sits at 2-2. They defeated Rider and Kent State, with losses at Penn State and against Villanova.
  • Taylor McClain leads the team with 11 points thanks to a team best nine assists. Allie Boyce scored nine times to lead the goal count. On offense the Bison averages over 10 goals a game.
  • Colleen Kazanjian is the primary goalkeeper, accumulating 22 saves. Reserves Toni Plunkett and Bella Crowley have also seen playing time.
ALL-TIME SERIES

Mount St. Mary's got their first-ever win against the Bison last year, and the all-time series stands at 5-1 Bucknell. Furlong scored four times, including two early goals that allowed the Mount to set the tone from the midway point of the first quarter.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE

On Wednesday (March 5), the Mount travels to battle Virgina Tech at 1 p.m. in Blacksburg.
