Mount Goes For 3-0 as Women’s Lacrosse Host Delaware

EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 21, 2025) – Going for a 3-0 start for the first time since 2020, Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse hosts Delaware for a Saturday afternoon contest.  
 
MOUNT UPDATE
  • Defeating Lafayette 14-6 last Saturday, the Mountaineers improved to 2-0 for the first time since 2022.
  • Battling the wintry elements, Anna Salerno finished with six points, divided between four goals and two assists. Anna McQuay completed four goals, including the final three tallies to seal a decisive win.
  • Mount St. Mary's sits in first in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) standings and are the lone undefeated team remaining.
  • Camille Thomas earned her second victory in as many starts and now leads the MAAC in goals-against-average at eight and save percentage (.529).
  • Salerno sits in second for goals per game (3.50) and points per game (4.50). She sits ninth for assists per game.
  • Additional Mountaineers in the top 10 include McQuay (goals per game), Brooke Molchanoff (assists per game), and MK Allingham (goals per game).
SCOUTING THE BLUE HENS
  • Delaware split their first two games of the season, defeating Temple in the opener before dropping a game against Rutgers in their most recent outing.
  • The 2024 squad went 10-6 but finished with a 3-5 mark in Coastal Athletic Association play.
  • Delaney McDaniel has the most points for Delaware this year, contributing five assists and three goals. She was third on the points board for the Hens in 2024, accumulating 45.
  • Maggie Craytor and Morgan Gore share the lead for goals with four each. Craytor registered a hat trick in the win over Temple.
  • Steph Marszal has covered all 120 minutes manning the net so far. She has 16 saves on the year. The defense as a whole specializes in caused turnovers, ranking fourth among Division I teams with an average of 14.50 per game.
ALL-TIME SERIES

The Mountaineers are looking for their first win over Delaware on the fourth try. Last year's team fell in Newark, 13-9, and the program lost contests in 2004 and 2005.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE

Prepping for their first midweek game of the season, Mount St. Mary's battles Robert Morris on Wednesday (Feb. 26). Game time is 1 p.m. from Moon Township.
