With ten minutes elapsed in the first half,
Bastian Brunello capitalized on a penalty kick, sending the ball through the uprights for three points. Arkansas State scored the game's opening try before Brunello converted on another penalty conversion, trailing 7-6. An Arkansas State score was matched by the Mount's opening try, scored by
Isaiah Williams with an ensuing Brunello conversion kick following. After the points after the score, the Mountaineers headed into halftime, down 14-13.
Arkansas State scored back to back tries to start the second half before
Hayden McKay took the ball into goal for the try with Brunello converting on the points after. Another Arkansas State try was responded to with a try from the Mount's
Jack Lamotta in the 79
th minute followed by another Brunello conversion, rounding out the scoring efforts for the Mount.
Brunello led the team in scoring, recording 12 points from both penalty kicks and kicks after the try. Tries for the Mountaineers came from Williams, McKay and Lamotta.
