MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (November 15, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's men's rugby defeated the St. Thomas Bobcats today in Florida by a score of 46-19, winning their CRAA Playoff Qualifier. With the win, the Mountaineers improve to 4-3 on the year, moving back to a game over .500.
Hayden McKay started the scoring for the Mountaineers in the seventh minute, scoring a try with an ensuing
Bastian Brunello conversion kick sailing through the crossbars.
Isaiah Williams scored a try in the 13
th minute followed by a kick from Brunello to take a 15-14 lead over the Bobcats heading into halftime.
Brunello took advantage of another conceded penalty in range, knocking the ball through for three points in the 43
rd minute. McKay scored his second try against the Bobcats in the 52
nd minute followed by another Brunello conversion kick. McKay completed his hat trick in the 60
th minute with another try and another Brunello conversion kick.
Evan Corbett added his name onto the scoresheet in the 67
th minute and
Trey Fields added on one last try in the 79
th minute, capping off the win for the Mountaineers.
McKay recorded a hat trick against the Bobcats while Williams, Corbett, and Fields added solo tries against St. Thomas. Brunello added four conversions during the match and recorded two penalty conversions.
