MOUNT UPDATES & NOTES
  • This past Thursday, the Mountaineers built a gradual 25-point lead, defeating the Merrimack Warriors by a final of 75-49. Six different players recorded double figures, led by 13 each from Madison Ruff and Jo Raflo.
  • The 49 points allowed mark the fewest surrendered against a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) opponent this year, and third least on the season followed 48 to Loyola and 39 to Howard.
  • Coach Antoine White has regained a positive record in conference games, going 35-34 between the MAAC and Northeast Conference. Offense has found its mark, with five of the 11 games where the team has posted 75 or more occurring this year.
  • Anna LeMaster and Raflo continue to be among the league leaders for scoring. Giana Hoddinott recorded five assists, increasing her APG total of 3.5, which is top 10 in the league. Tessa Engelman recorded three blocks for the first time in her career, moving into eighth in the MAAC for blocks per game.
  • With Thursday's victory, Mount St. Mary's holds third place in the conference. Their 7-3 record matches with Siena, but the team holds the tiebreak by virtue of defeating the Saints on January 23. Fairfield remains undefeated and in first, and with Quinnipiac falling to the Stags, the Mount now stands one game back of second place.

SCOUTING SAINT PETER'S
  • The Peacocks have matched their conference win total from a season ago, holding a 4-5 record. Jen Leedham is at the helm, serving in her third season as head coach. As a team, SPU relies on defense to win, surrendering the third-fewest points on average.
  • Fatmata Janneh is their biggest threat, averaging a double-double of 18.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. The sophomore from London has eight games of 20 points or more on the season and has a season high of 21 rebounds in a game versus NJIT.
  • Louella Allana leads the MAAC in assists, tallying 109 dimes for an average of 6.1 per game. She registered 10 in a game versus Niagara on January 9.
  • Laila Grant and Nikola Zdenkova are tied for the most three-pointers with 30 apiece.
