Box Score Lawrenceville, N.J. (January 16, 2025)—Mount St. Mary's could not get its offense on track, falling at Rider, 64-58, on Thursday night at Alumni Gym.
Dola Adebayo led the Mount with a career high 21 points in the game.
It was a tough night for the Mount on the offensive end as they had a season-high 25 turnovers while shooting just 38.2 percent from the field. The Broncs were able to take advantage by scoring 20 points off of the Mount miscues.
Leading 29-23 at the half, the Broncs were able to stay in front the entire second half with a lead between three and nine points. The closest the Mount was able to get in the second half was 37-34 with on an Adebayo dunk with 13:33 remaining.
The Mount trailed 59-54 after a
Carmelo Pacheco three with 2:07 on the clock. The Mount then forced a turnover, but Adebayo's three-pointer was off the mark with the Broncs getting the rebound. The Mount fouled, and got the miss, but Rider's T.J. Week's grabbed the board and scored to make it 61-54. From there, Rider was able to hold on for the win.
Adebayo finished 7-of-12 from the field while hitting 6-of-10 at the line en route to his career high 21 point game. Pacheco hit 4-of-8 from three-point range to finish with 12 points.
Jedy Cordilia recorded six points and a game-high 14 rebounds while
Arlandus Keyes added eight points.
Dallas Hobbs returned to the Mount lineup after missing the previous three games due to injury, finishing with six points and six rebounds in 19 minutes. Jay Alvarez led Rider with 19 points while Flash Burton added 14 and Weeks Jr. 12 in the win.
The Mount took a 14-10 lead on a Keyes three-pointer just past the midpoint of the first half, but the Broncs responded with an 11-0 run to take the lead. Zion Cruz and Weeks Jr. capped the run with back-to-back threes for the Broncs. The Mount's Pacheco stopped the run with a triple, and an Adebayo basket made it 21-19. The Broncs, however, rattled off the next seven points to take their biggest lead of the game at 28-19 before settling for a 29-23 advantage at the break.
Turnovers plagued the Mountaineers in the opening half with 14 turnovers compared to just three for Rider. The Mount held a commanding 27-to-11 edge on the boards. The Mount shot just 9-of-26 (.346) from the field in the first half, including 2-of-10 (.200) from three-point range. Rider shot 10-of-31 (.323) in the first half, hitting 5-of-13 (.385) from beyond the arc.

- Rider now holds a 17-13 lead in the all-time series with the Mountaineers, including a 4-1 mark in MAAC regular season meetings.
- Jedy Cordilia's 14 rebounds are tied for the most in a game by a Mountaineer this season.Terrell Ard Jr. had 14 in the Mount's season-opening win over Notre Dame of Maryland.
