EMMITSBURG, Md. (August 6, 2026) – Mount St. Mary's men's basketball announced its non-conference schedule 2026-27 season. The team plays 11 non-conference games with the Metro Conference portion of the schedule still pending.
A full list of dates can be found on the Mount's website. Five of the games take place at Knott Arena, along with an exhibition against Navy on October 28.
The 192
nd edition of the Catholic Clash opens the regular season home slate on November 6. The date marks the earliest the Mountaineers and Greyhounds have battled each other, and only the fourth time in the month of November. Mount is seeking their fourth win in five games over Loyola.
After Loyola, the Mount welcomes Lehigh (Nov. 17), Western Michigan (Nov. 20), and Drexel (Nov. 28). Drexel comes to Emmitsburg for the first time since 1988, and Lehigh for the first time since 2018. All home games are at 7 p.m., apart from a 4 p.m. start versus Drexel.
Western Michigan is a first-time opponent for the Mount – one of three new challengers for the program. In December, the team will head to the Great Plains to take on Creighton (Dec. 15) and Nebraska (Dec. 17). The last non-conference home game is against Central Penn on December 20.
Additional games on the road include the season opener against Xavier (Nov. 2), Virginia Tech (Nov. 13), Morgan State (Nov. 24), and Coppin State (Dec. 10). The Mountaineers last played Xavier in 1990, battling the Musketeers to an offensive slugfest before falling 103-96. This will be the sixth meeting against Virginia Tech, the ninth against Coppin State, and the 12
th versus Morgan State.
Last season Mount St. Mary's finished second in the 13-team conference in attendance boasting the highest capacity rate for any Division I school in the region.
