EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 12, 2024) – For the fourth weekend of competition, Mount St. Mary's opens their home slate with games against Penn State. The A-side will play at 1 p.m., followed by the B-side at 3 p.m.
MOUNT UPDATE
Last week served as a bye for the A-side, while the B's and C's traveled to Mary Washington. In the A-side's last game, they fell by a 36-8 final at Navy to fall to 1-1 on the season.
Shemar Lewis posted the Mount's try in the game, and
Bastain Brunello added on a field goal.
Evan Corbett remains the Mount's leading point scorer after securing 14 in the Air Force game to open the season.
SCOUTING PENN STATE
The Nittany Lions are opening the 2024-25 season with their games at the Mount. They are led by Zac Mizell, who was hired in August from Adrian College. Last April, Penn State won the Big Ten Universities Rugby 7's Championship in South Bend, Indiana, following a 40-0 shutout of Michigan.
NEXT UP
On September 21, the team heads to Charlotte and Baltimore. The A and B sides face Queens in North Carolina, and the C side battles UMBC.
