Women's Rugby travels to Cambridge to take on Harvard

Emmitsburg, MD. (August 31, 2024)- Mount St. Mary's women's rugby returns to the pitch for the opening match at Harvard at 12 p.m.

Mount Update

The Mountaineers advanced to the final match of the Collegiate Rugby Championship last year but fell to Southern Nazarene. The Mountaineers fought through Michigan and Northeastern to get to that game. The Mount is 2-7 in season openers with the last opening win coming in the 2019-2020 season.

Scouting Harvard

Over the summer, multiple first years for Harvard competed in the USA Rugby 18U Tour in Wales. The Crimson are going to be looking to get back to the Ivy 7's Tournament and the CRAA 7's National Championship this year with the help of these first-year students.

History with Harvard

The Mountaineers are 0-4 against the powerhouse Harvard, who won the 2024 Ivy 7's Title. Harvard has averaged 80 points in the 4 meetings against the Mount and is looking to continue their reign.
