EMMITSBURG, Md. (May 8th, 2024) – Mount St. Mary's is set to host the Canisius Golden Griffins this weekend in our home conference series finale beginning Friday at 3 p.m. Mount St. Mary's will honor the seniors on Senior Day on Sunday, May 12

Mount St. Mary's is coming off a massive 2-1 series win over the Rider Broncs this past weekend after stealing the doubleheader from the third-place conference holders. With the wins the Mount has positioned themselves in fifth place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in which the top six teams make a postseason run in Pomona, New York. Â

Scott Seeker leads the team in the box batting .331 with 43 runs scored, 13 doubles, nine home runs, and 48 RBIs.
Tyler Long is next with a .315 average with 43Â runs scored, four home runs, 27 RBIs, while leading the team with a .466 on base percentage.
JT Landwehr now leads the country in being hit by pitch with a total of 31, while also overtaking the Mount St. Mary's baseball program record in an individual season while also claiming the individual career record with 38 times being hit by a pitch, previously held by Eric Smith with 33.

Brendan Yagesh leads the team on the mound with a 3.47 ERA through 57 innings, 62 punch outs, and is 1-3 on the season.
Deven Sheerin yields a 5.20 ERA through 52 2/3 innings with 85 punch outs while tallying a 4-4 record. Sheerin is in good company as the freshman is eighth in the country with 14.25 strikeouts per nine innings, while being tied for 24
th in total strikeouts per

The Golden Griffins are 17-23 overall on the season with a 10-8 conference record while posing a 10-19 away account. Jackson Strong leads the teams' bats with a .351 average, 48 runs scored, 11 home runs, and 30 RBIs.

Justin Guillano leads the team on the hill yielding an ERA of 4.14 through 54 1/3 innings, while tallying 61 strikeouts with a 3-3 record on the season. The Griffs have a triage of pitchers that yield an Earned Run Average of under 5.50, two over 60 punch outs.
