EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 4^th, 2024) – Mount St. Mary's is coming off a long week of rest after canceling this week's midweek matchup versus UMES. The Mountaineers host the Marist Red Foxes in a weekend series starting Saturday at 1 p.m. The Mount is 2-1 in conference play, sitting in sixth place a spot above Marist.
 
MOUNT UPDATE
 
The Mount is coming off a double-header loss to Portland over Easter weekend. Efrain Correa, Jr. posted a positive day at the plate in game three after finishing 2-2 with a solo home run and a single. Scott Seeker finished 2-3 with a double, a single, a run scored, and a walk.
 
Tyler Long leads the team in the box with a .298 average, 21 runs scored, 14 RBIs, and three home runs. JT Landwehr is second, batting .295 with 14 runs, 12 RBIs, and one homer.
 
SCOUTING MARIST
 
The Red Foxes are 7-19 overall and 2-4 in conference play with a recent sweep by Niagara. Collin Mackle leads the team's offense with a .337 average, 9 RBIs, 10 runs, and one home run. Marist has three players batting over .300.
 
Marist' ace Riley Orr yields and ERA of 7.28 through 29 2/3 innings, with 21 strikeouts and a 2-5 record on the hill this season. Steven Mazza yields a 6.43 ERA through 28 innings, with 20 strikeouts, and a 2-1 record.

Mount St. Mary's is 7-11 all-time challenging Marist on the Diamond, with the series dating back to 1992. The Mount is on a two-game winning streak after winning two of three games last season on April 7^th and 8^th of 2023.
