EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 19th, 2024) - Freshman arm, Deven Sheerin, awarded with the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week accolade for last week's winning performance over St. Bonavenutre. 

Sheerin threw a seven-inning complete game, throwing six scoreless innings while fanning eight batters in the Mount's 3-1 win over the Bonnies. The only hit allowed was a solo home-run over centerfield in the top of the seventh, he went on to force out the next three batters. Sheerin earned his first win and first MAAC award of his collegiate career thanks to his strong outing last Saturday. 

The Reading, Pa. native has 37 strikeouts in 22 innings. Per the NCAA Baseball Division-1 Stat Leaders, Sheerin is 13th in the country in strikeouts per nine innings with 15.14 knockouts, while tied for 39th in the country in total strikeouts.
