EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 15, 2024) – The 2023-24 indoor track & field season approaches its final regular season meet as Mount St. Mary's heads to George Mason University for the Father Diamond Invitational.
MOUNT UPDATE: Arran Fahey and his distance of 5.13 meters in the men's pole vault headlined the Mount's efforts at the Darius Dixon Invitational, hosted by Liberty.
Renaldi Falwell earned a 16.33 meter weight throw, placing him fifth on the school's all-time list.
Darren Hook won the men's shot put which paced a handful of top five finishers at the meet.
MOUNTAINEERS IN THE MAAC: Alongside Fahey's performance, the Mount has four athletes sitting first in the MAAC for their events.
Emelie Beckman is first in the women's pole vault, as well as
Justin Sluijter for the long jump and
Cyre Hooper for the triple jump. Several more Mountaineers hold second in the league, including
Todd Charles (60m),
Richard Gilchrist (60h), and
Simone Smith and
Madelyn Valpy (triple jump).
UP NEXT: The MAAC Championships begin February 24 in New York City.
