Mount St. Mary's Men's Rugby Team to Compete in 2024 Fall Classic

Emmitsburg, MD (December 6, 2024) – The Mount's men's rugby team will take the trip to South Carolina to take on the University of Arizona in the Collegiate Rugby Association of America (CRAA) 2024 Fall Classic on Sunday December 8, 2024.

CRAA 2024 Fall Classic
The 2024 Fall classic will hold seven highly competitive games over two days. The first game of the Classic will kickoff at 12PM on December 7 and will finish off with Mount St. Mary's taking on Arizona on Sunday at 3PM. All games of the tournament will be broadcast live on The Rugby Network.

Mount Update
The Mountaineers walk into the classic holding a 6-3 overall record while going 5-2 in conference play and boasting  a #13 ranking from RugbyHawk.com. The Mount was able to end the season on a four-game winning streak, with their most recent loss coming to Life U on September 28. Several Mountaineer players also received honors this past week for their terrific play in the regular season. Mount St. Mary's also boasts having Evan Corbett, who is amongst the top three scorers via Rugby East during the regular season. The Mount will be looking to take the win against Arizona in The Battle of Cowpens Bowl on Sunday.

Scouting Arizona
The Wildcats, ranked #16 by RugbyHawk, are 6-0 this season in DIAA play for the first time since 2018. Their latest win comes against the University of San Diego, 50-17. Mount St. Mary's is their first opponent outside their region to face Arizona, who have earned wins over UTEP,  New Mexico, Grand Canyon, Arizona State, Colorado State and San Diego.
