EMMITSBURG, Md. (November 19, 2024) – Two teams looking to post their first win of the 2024-25 season meet in Lewisburg, as Mount St. Mary's travels to face Bucknell. The quick road trip pits two squads with schools along U.S. Route 15.

MOUNT UPDATE

Engaged in a rock fight last Wednesday, Mount St. Mary's fell to the Howard Bison 39-35 in Emmitsburg. Tessa Engelman set a career high in rebounding with nine and tied her career high in points at eight. Anna LeMaster ended up as the leading scorer with nine points. Howard held the Mountaineers under 40 points for the second consecutive season.

Getting a win in Lewisburg would avoid Mount's first 0-4 start since the 2017-18 season. That team went 0-6 to start the year.

Gabrielle Kennerly continues to lead the Mountaineers in scoring with 16.7 per game. Engelman is tied with Jaedyn Jamison in rebounds per game with 5.3. Giana Hoddinott has the most assists with 11, and Rosa Revueltas Pareja has the most steals with six.

SCOUTING BUCKNELL

The Bison are 0-4 to open the season, beginning the season with P4 losses at Penn State and Pitt before falling to FDU and Merrimack. Ashley Sofilkanich is Bucknell's primary scorer – the only one averaging double figures at 17.8 this season. The sophomore from South Amboy, New Jersey also leads the Bison in rebounding. Sophia Sabino has 22 assists across the four games while Reese Zemitis has the most three-pointers and two steals per game.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES

Dating back to 1990, Mount St. Mary's and Bucknell have met on 10 prior occasions. The Mountaineers hold the upper hand, 7-3, with most of those wins coming in the 1990s. Bucknell earned wins in 2012, 2014, and 2015. Last season, the Mount took a home game over the Bison, 55-46.

LOOKING AHEAD

Next Tuesday (Nov. 26), Mount St. Mary's travels to George Mason. Tip-off is 7 p.m. from Fairfax, Virginia.
