EMMITSBURG, Md. (November 15, 2024) – After a trip to Lexington, Virginia to face the Virginia Military Institute, the Mount travels to the nation's capital to face Howard University on Saturday. The Mountaineers are coming off a dual-meet split, with the women winning 171-110 and the men losing out 193-101.

At VMI, both the men's and women's 200-Yard Medley Relay teams continued their dominance from the previous weekend at the Thomas Murphy Invitational as the team ofÂ

Meghan Speicher captured first place with a time of 1:48.17 while the men's team ofÂ

Austin Toland placed first with a time of 1:32.98. Aggen and Fitch also placed first in their respective 100-Yard Backstroke races with times of 59.38 and 50.97 respectively.

Kanellopoulou continued her winning at the dual-meet with a time of 2:01.64 in the women's 200-Yard Freestyle. Grady placed first in the men's 100-Yard Breaststroke with a score of 56.72, two seconds in front of the nearest VMI swimmer. AndÂ
Carmen Del Aguila placed first in the women's 200-Yard Butterfly with a time of 2:09.55.

SCOUTING THE BISONS

Howard has a 0-2 record between the men's and women's programs with losses to both Georgetown and American in dual-meet competition. At Georgetown, the men lost a close race for points against the Hoyas 117-107 with the women also losing 133-90. Against American, the men lost another close contest by a scoreline of 125.5-117.5 and the women losing 155-83 against the Eagles.
