EMMITSBURG, Md. (November 14, 2024) – Making a brief trip this weekend, Mount St. Mary's bowling travels to the Charm City metro to battle in Coppin State's Lady Eagles Invitational.   
 
FORMAT: Similar to the Niagara Open two weeks open, day one on Saturday will be five rounds of traditional play. Sunday features Baker play, equally split between Quint qualifiers and best-of-seven bracket rounds.   
 
PARTICIPATING TEAMS: Mount St. Mary's, Coppin State (hosts), Belmont Abbey, Caldwell, Delaware State, Dominican (N.Y.), Fayetteville State, Felician, Howard, Kutztown, Molloy, Norfolk State, Saint Anselm, St. Thomas Aquinas, Virginia State, Virginia Union
 
MOUNT UPDATE: Going 7-3 two weekends ago at the Niagara Fall Open, the Mountaineers posted a third place finish. The team defeated Saint Vincent in the bracket round to secure the top three showing. In traditional play on the first day, Aliza Shirk led the way with a 976 series, culminating in a 232 game. Entering the weekend, the Mount stands at 21-12 for the year.
 
SCOUTING THE FIELD: Teams competing in the Lady Eagles Invitational feature a predominate number of HBCUs from the Mid-Atlantic region, along with several other schools hailing from New Jersey, New York, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. The Mount is one of two ranked teams in the field, along with Delaware State.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE: The fall semester slate closes out with the Garden State Classic November 22-24, hosted by Monmouth University.
