EMMITSBURG, Md. (July 6, 2026) - Nine student-athletes from the Mount St. Mary's bowling team earned All-Academic Scholar Athlete status from the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA). 

The student-athletes are graduate student Kayleigh McMullen; seniors Alyssa Balest, Aliza Shirk, Sierra Calo, and Trishelle Leal Uribe; juniors Piper Chalmers and Leah Varela; and sophomores Amber Benson and Mikalah Carter. 

In addition, the team as a whole received the NTCA All-Academic Scholar Team honor, achieving a 3.699 GPA as a group. 

The NTCA All-Academic Team honors collegiate bowlers who have excelled in the classroom while competing at the highest levels of the sport. To be eligible, student-athletes must have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.4 during the academic year.
