DEPTFORD, NJ (October 11, 2026) – After a perfect qualifying weekend, Mount St. Mary's finished the Bud Whitman Memorial in third place for their first tournament of the season. The Mountaineers are 8-1 to start the year.

FDU and Felician were routine opponents for the Mount on the tournament's ultimate day, facing each team twice. Wins in qualifying – first over FDU and second over Felician – gave the Mountaineers top billing entering bracket rounds.

In a unique format, they rematched FDU in a ^#1 vs. ^#4 seed matchup, with five games of total pinfall deciding who advances to the championship game. The Knights would get the Mount back, sending them to the third-place game. There, they would fend off a feisty Felician squad in a best-of-seven bracket victory.

The Mount competes again next weekend with the Chelsea Gilliam Penguin Classic, hosted by Youngstown State University, beginning on October 16.
