EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 8, 2024) – Mount St. Mary's women's basketball was selected to finish seventh in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Preseason Poll. The vote, taken by conference coaches, was released in conjunction with the MAAC Basketball Tip-off in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
At 11:15 a.m., Coach Antoine White and graduate student Anna LeMaster will interview at the MAAC Tip-off to discuss the upcoming season.
The Mountaineers received a total of 89 votes in the poll, one spot ahead of their eighth place selection from a year ago. Finishing 10-6 in the second half of the season in 2023-24, the team came in sixth place in the conference with a 10-10 record.
Senior
Jo Raflo was named to the Preseason All-MAAC Second Team. Entering her third season in Emmitsburg, the Gainesville, Virginia native averaged 12.2 points per game last year along with 101 rebounds, 45 assists, 34 steals, and a team-high 24 blocks. Her 67 three-pointers made tied with Siena's Ahniysa Jackson as the most in the MAAC, and stand tied for sixth all-time in a Mount season.
Defending champion Fairfield received selection to repeat in 2024-25 and gathered all 13 first-place votes. A full list of the poll is at the bottom of this article.
The Mount's 2024-25 season begins November 7 at South Florida.
