BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (September 2nd, 2023) – Mount St. Mary's women's rugby opens their season in a road bout versus the Long Island University Sharks on Saturday, set to kick off at 1 p.m.

Newly appointed head coach
Maggie Myles and returning assistant coach
Lance Connolly have expressed excitement for the upcoming season. With five newcomers welcomed to the Mount, Myles is looking to add her touch and joy of rugby to the program. Heading over from Queens University where she assisted the team in going a perfect 9-0 during the Varsity 15's season and successfully bringing home the school's first ever NIRA DII Championship, Myles has the respect of her team and the praise of supporting coaching staff.

Sankara Price, wing
Kameka President, fullback
ZyQuaria Climons, and wing
Katherine Stern who missed much of last season due to a shoulder injury.
Saturday's game with the Sharks launches the Mount's six game schedule. The Mountaineers home-opener is September 16
th at 11 a.m.
SCOUTING LIU
The Sharks lost two games last season during the regular season versus Brown and Quinnipiac. LIU is a physical team with talent surrounding a new coaching staff in head coach Joseph Rasmus. With eight newcomers and vital returners, the sharks are a team that will be able to compete with any team on the pitch.
