LARRY ELLIS INVITATIONAL RESULTS | BILL BUTLER INVITATIONAL RESULTS | JAMES MADISON INVITE RESULTS
April 15, 2023--The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams had athletes at the Larry Ellis Invitational, the Bill Butler Invitational and the James Madison Invitational. Weather caused the first two meets to be cut short.
At the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton, storms caused the meet to be cancelled midway through. The Mount did have some standout performances before the weather intervened.
Richard Gilchrist had the top qualifying mark in the 110m hurdles at 14.14 seconds. Gilchrist,
Todd Charles,
Daniel Reader and Nick Weaver flirted with a school record in the 4x100m relay with a time of 40.89 seconds that was good for a third-place finish. That mark is second on the Mount's all-time list behind the quartet of Matthew Hawksley, Cliff Wong, Jamal Simms and Newel Scoon, who ran 40.81 seconds at the IC4A Championships on May 18, 1996.Â
Dante Elliot won the high jump at Princeton with a leap of 2.07m (6' 9.5") that moved him to the top of the MAAC leaderboard. Elliot's mark is eighth on the Mount's all-time top 10 list.
Keighan DeCoff had a throw of 39.34m in the discus that is the third-best mark in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference this year and moves DeCoff into eighth on the Mount's all-time top 10 list.Â
John Wang's time of 9:18.11 in the 3,000m steeplechase is good for second in the MAAC this season.Â
Renaldi Falwell had a mark of 15.29m (50' 2") to finish 11th in the shot put at Princeton. His mark is fifth all-time at the Mount and moves him up to second in the MAAC this season.Â
At James Madison,
John Ruona took home first place in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 9:51.90. At West Chester,
Zaria Wilson finished second in the 400m (58.06) while
Sarah Purdy was third in the 100m hurdles (16.19).
The Mount returns to the track on April 22 at the Bucknell Team Challenge.
