EMMITSBURG, Md (March 13, 2023) – Mount baseball welcomes the St. Bonaventure Bonnies to E.T. Straw Family Stadium in Emmitsburg, Md, beginning Friday at 3 p.m. Mount St. Mary's is 7-8 on the season with notable wins versus Towson, Pitt, and a Longwood Lancer sweep.
ABOUT THE MOUNT
Effective defense and a shift of intensity on offense in the seventh led the Mount to a game one victory over UMBC.
Brady Drawbaugh added four RBIs to his season tally, three after hitting a shot over the left field fence in the fourth inning of the Mount's win over UMBC. Drawbaugh also holds the crown for triples on the season after striping one down the left field line in game two.
Cooper Adams pitched a total of 6 1/3 innings, four being scoreless and recorded three strikeouts while
Jett Slepak earned his first collegiate win after pitching 2 1/3 innings, allowed no runs on three hits, and tallied four strikeouts.
Through three games
Scott Seeker went 5-11 at the plate, recorded five RBIs, and rounded the bases five times.
Aiden Tierney went 8-13 with one run batted in and crossed the plate once. Leading the teams' batting average is
Tyler Long posting a .345, while
Efrain Correa, Jr. and Tierney bat a .342.
SCOUTING ST. BONAVENTURE
The Bonnies are 1-11 on the season, their only win coming at New Mexico on March 4
th. Christian Szablewski leads the teams average batting .364 with 22 at bats, behind him is Jackson DeJohn with a .289 through 38 at bats. The team bats a collective .242 average on the year.
St. Bonaventure's Ace, Liam Devine has a 5.54 ERA through 13 innings, allowed 12 hits, and recorded 13 strikeouts. The team allows an average of 12.5 runs per game to opposing teams while scoring roughly four runs per game.
