GAME NOTES (MSM) | WATCH | LIVE STATS

EMMITSBURG, Md. (February 10, 2023) – Potential movement in the conference standings, a win streak and protecting the home floor are all on the minds of the Mount St. Mary's women's basketball team when they challenge Saint Peter's.

MOUNT UPDATE

Picking up their 800th win in program history, Jessica Tomasetti banked in a triple to force overtime and the Mountaineers prevailed in the extra session over Siena, 77-75. Aryna Taylor scored a season-high 20 points to lead the team. The win marked a season sweep over the Saints, who stand in a fourth place tie in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) standings. The 800th win for Mount St. Mary's women's basketball serves as a plateau for Head Coach Antoine White, earning his 25th win at the helm.

Mount's position in the MAAC is in eighth place. A win over Saint Peter's and a loss by Manhattan Sunday against Rider moves the team up a spot.

Michaela Harrison continues to lead the team in points per game at 12.9 and stands three shy of 1,700 for her career. Taylor needs one point to reach 800 as a Mountaineer, and two treys to pass one-time teammate Bridget Birkhead for eighth on the program's three-point list.

RE-EXAMINING THE PEACOCKS

Making their first trip to Emmitsburg since 1990, Saint Peter's is looking for their first win of the season. Two Jada's – Williams and Leonard – lead the Peacocks in scoring at 9.7 points per game each. Williams holds the team's rebounding lead with 141 boards (6.7 RPG).

At 47.7 points per game, Saint Peter's ranks 348th in scoring offense nationwide. Only South Carolina State and Hartford score at a lower rate. One potential avenue where they can limit the Mountaineers is at the three-point line. The Peacocks limit the competition to 29.4 percent beyond-the-arc.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES

On their sixth attempt since 1975, the Mount got their first win in Jersey City, defeating Saint Peter's 61-42 back on January 21st. The Peacocks hold a 6-4 advantage in the series.

LOOKING AHEAD

Saturday kicks off a three-game home stand. Next week will see Quinnipiac Thursday (Feb. 16) and Iona Saturday (Feb. 18). The Gaels and Bobcats are on top in the MAAC standings.
