EMMITSBURG, Md. (January 11, 2023) – Moving into the second quarter of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) season, Mount St. Mary's women's basketball heads back to the Greater New York area to battle Iona.  
 
MOUNT UPDATE
 
The Mountaineers stopped a three-game slide with a 74-52 win over Rider on January 7^th. Jo Raflo posted a career high in points with 20, Isabella Hunt grabbed a career high 14 rebounds and Jessica Tomasetti supplied a career high six assists.
 
At 2-3 through the first five conference games, the Mount holds eighth place in the standings.
 
Michaela Harrison hit a pair of three-pointers to reach 300 for her career in the win over the Broncs. The next triple will be the most for any Mount player regardless of gender.
 
SCOUTING THE GAELS
 
Iona has won the past three games heading into this contest, defeating Marist, Niagara and Rider. They hold a three-way tie for first with Siena and Fairfield.
 
Juana Camilion leads in points per game at 14.1, and Ketsia Athias adds 12.7 points while leading the team in rebounding at 7.9 a game. Followers of the Mount may also be familiar with Kate Mager, a graduate transfer who competed in the NEC out of Merrimack. Mager is the Gaels' three-point specialist with 44 triples on the season.
 
THE ALL-TIME SERIES
