EMMITSBURG, Md. (May 18, 2022) – The Mount St. Mary's baseball team will be playing in their final series to the end the year at home against LIU.

Friday's contest marks Senior Day, with six players – Thomas Bramley, Connor Buggy, Patrick Burke, Ryan Fisher, Ryan Florio and Bryant Shives – all receiving recognition. Saturday's season finale is played in tribute to Mount baseball alumnus Ryan Stamp '09, who passed away last year.

MOUNT UPDATE: Coming off a double header on Sunday at Wagner, Mount St. Mary's split the games, losing the first and winning the second. In a close victory, the score being 10-8, the Mount was down late in the game, but posted eight runs in the eighth inning to come back. Shives and Burke delivered scoreless outings to help the team triumph. Shives received credit for the victory while Burke earned the save.

Aiden Tierney leads his team in batting average with a .358, having 34 hits and 18 RBIs. Bramley leads his team in RBIs though with a total of 34. Tristan McAlister leads his team in hits with 49 of them.

LIU UPDATE: LIU this year is 32-17 overall with a 16-8 mark against Northeast Conference opponents and 14-7 on the road. Standing in first place by one game, the Sharks have an opportunity to claim their first regular season title since they were crowned divisional champions in 2000.

As a team, LIU is batting at a .268 average, with Luke Turner leading individually with a .376. Michael Edelman is the big hitter on the team, standing with 64 hits and 48 runs. He also has 31 RBIs on the season. In his five appearances, RJ Latkowski has a 0.00 pitching ERA, while starter Joshua Loeschorn comes into the weekend with nine victories and a 3.17 ERA.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. LIU: The Mount will be playing LIU in one final series as conference opponents, with the Sharks holding a 32-23 advantage. The Mount will try to get 26 wins as they play LIU three times. The Mount lost the last game 5-0 at LIU on May 7, 2021.

ON DECK: This series concludes the 2022 season.
