EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 3, 2022) – A strong first half against Princeton marked the high point of Mount St. Mary's women's water polo in their final day of Collegiate Water Polo Association play. The Tigers rallied for a 14-6 win, and Michigan completed Sunday with a 15-1 win over the Mount.
Ana Luisa Cotta earned multiple goals in the first game, both coming in the second quarter. The sophomore – along with
Beatrice Vieira and
Lola Fuhs – helped the Mount take the period and remain in contention with a 6-5 deficit. But the Tigers defense stood up in the second half, limiting their opponents to one score, a goal by
Rebecca Valentine.
Serena Thurman scored in the third quarter against the Wolverines, but the top-10 ranked Michigan held the Mount to that single score.
With an 8-22 record, Mount St. Mary's looks to end the regular season on a high note with a non-conference game at home against St. Francis Brooklyn April 8
