EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 11, 2022) – Mount St. Mary's baseball look to keep up their success at home as they take on Navy on Wednesday, following a three-game series against the Northeast Conference leader FDU Knights from Thursday through Saturday.
ABOUT THE MOUNT: The Mount comes off A series win at Merrimack this past weekend. In the rubber match, an exciting 6-5 win on Sunday, April 10
th ended on a double play which stranded the tying and winning Warrior runs.
Efrain Correa, Jr. led the way for the Mount at batting with a home run and two RBI'S.
Max Moore (1-2) earned the win for pitching not allowing any hits or runs. The Mount comes into their next game against Navy with an overall record of 9-17 and a conference record of 4-5.
Tristan McAlister went 10-for-16 across last week, filling the stat sheet with numerous runs scored, RBIs and stolen bases.
Steve Schenning received his first two collegiate wins after hurling six spotless innings out of the bullpen.
ABOUT NAVY: Navy comes to the Mount on Wednesday with an overall record of 14-18 and a conference record of 6-9. The Mids are currently on a two-game win streak following two victories at Holy Cross, including a 20-5 final Sunday. Navy's batting average stands at .259 this year with Christian Policelli leading the team with a batting average of .349, 44 hits, and 19 runs. Pitchers combine for a 6.31 ERA.
ABOUT FDU: The FDU Knights stand at 14-17 this season with a conference record of 7-2. Traveling to Saint Peter's on Tuesday, April 12
th, FDU looks to continue a surprising run that places them atop the NEC standings. In the preseason poll, FDU projected to finish last via the conference vote. The Knights' batting average stands at .277 and leading his team is George Rosales with a .380 average, 27 hits, and 19 runs. The pitching staff combine for a 6.02 ERA, with Ryan Rembish holding a 1.98 ERA and 21 strikeouts.
ALL-TIME SERIES. VS NAVY AND FDU: The Mount is 7-5 all-time against Navy, winning their last matchup 15-4 on March 10
th. The Mount is 2-3 at home when hosting the Midshipmen. Against FDU, the Knights' sweep of the Mountaineers pushed FDU into the series lead, 56-55.
ON DECK: Penn State awaits the Mount on Wednesday, April 20
