WATCH | LIVE STATS

EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 31, 2022) – Mount St. Mary's baseball returns home to Northeast Conference play, battling Wagner in a three-game series.

ABOUT THE MOUNT

Returning to Emmitsburg, the Mount looks to reverse a four-game slide. After the Fairleigh Dickinson series, they travel to Lewisburg and engaged in a slugfest with Bucknell. Late inning runs from the Bison netted the home side an 11-9 victory.

The duo of Thomas Bramley and Aiden Tierney continue to provide the spark on the offensive end. Logging seven homerun and 21 RBIs, Bramley's run production couples with a .343 batting average. Tierney has begun his Mount career 14-for-37 (.378) with 11 walks drawn, 10 runs scored and five runs driven in.

Max Moore maintains his ERA lead with a 2.45, trying Cooper Adams in the strikeout lead with 19. Newcomers Isaac Van Meter and Jake Andrews are supplying effective relief appearances in their first seasons as Mountaineers.

ABOUT WAGNER

Following a loss to Seton Hall Wednesday, Wagner comes to Emmitsburg with a 3-19 record. In their opening NEC weekend, the Seahawks earned a victory over reigning tournament champion Central Connecticut by a 5-1 score in Lakewood before dropping the next two.

Maimu Kobayashi leads the team in average at .292, while Dante Faicchio has tallied 18 RBIs and 11 extra base hits. Pitching is a sore spot for the Seahawks, with the team mustering a 9.90 ERA. Daniel Merkel has six starts boasting an ERA of 5.25.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES

The Seahawks lead all-time 66-45, but the Mount took two of three last season in a late April home series. Capturing a 16-4 opening victory the Mountaineers polished off a rubber game, 7-1, behind the solid pitching efforts of Michael Yetter, Patrick Burke and Ryan Ament.
