FAIRFIELD, Conn. (March 28, 2026) – In the second of three for Mount St. Mary's baseball against Sacred Heart, the teams went to extra innings where the Pioneers captured the win in the 10
th.
Carson Clark provided the offense for the Mount, driving in a pair of runs in a 2-for-4 day.
Evan Meier also produced a multi-hit effort.
On the mound, four Mountaineers combined for 10 strikeouts with
Eli DeRossi and
Josh Halcisak punching out four Pioneers each. DeRossi and
Maximus McCrary came away from no earned runs in their outings.
Sacred Heart had three hits from JW Fitzgerald and four scoreless innings of relief from PJ Rogan.
The Mount is now 11-13 this year and 5-6 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).
HOW THE GAME UNFOLDED
- Clark's two-run single came in the fourth inning, driving in Mike Toth and Ty Fredo.
- Sacred Heart locked the game at 2-2 by the fifth inning, with Gavin Donohue earning an RBI single and Peter Link contributing a sacrifice fly.
- The game remained 2-2 until the 10th, when Will Rudolph walked it off on an RBI single.
