GREENSBORO, N.C. (February 27, 2022) – Rebounding from some difficult defeats on the lanes Saturday, Mount St. Mary's bowling earned victories over #21 Lincoln Memorial and #14 Delaware State to close out a fifth place showing at the Stallings Invitational.
Winning records for tournament continue to be the norm for Mount St. Mary's. They leave Greensboro with a 7-6 mark, and a win over the #2 team in the country Saturday.
Freshman
Rachel Hines made a resolute return to the starting lineup, leading the Mountaineers in Baker average with a 21.12 against LMU. Senior
Rebecca Dodson continued her strong weekend at 20.60, followed by solid performances from sophomore
Alyssa Alexander (19.25), and senior
Tamera Stanton (19.14).

Looking to change course after the tough Saturday, the Mount started strong with a 214 against the Northeast Conference rival Knights. But FDU countered with high scores after game one, including mid-200's in games three and game six to carry the victory. Two lower scores for the Mount went by the wayside in the last three games to build momentum going forward.

A lineup change took one game to take hold in their meeting with the Rail Splitters. The narrow defeat was a mirage the Mount's scores increased. A 246 in the fourth game and a decided 255 finale permitted advancement up the Stallings bracket.

The fifth place meeting pitted the Mount with the Hornets. After a three-pin squeaker gave the Emmitsburgers a 1-0 advantage, the Mountaineers began to roll away with the victory. A 146-141 speed bump in the fourth game prevented the sweep.
Mount St. Mary's returns to the lanes next weekend in Bethlem, Pa. March 5

th for the third and final NEC Meet. This tournament marks the conclusion of the regular season.
