Mount Women’s Lacrosse Reveals 2023 Schedule

EMMITSBURG, Md. (December 8, 2022) – Mount St. Mary's women's lacrosse delivers its schedule for the upcoming winter and spring. These games will be composed of 16 events, with eight home games.

Dates and available times for the entire schedule are listed on the team's schedule page.

The season opener will be on February 11th against the Towson Tigers in Waldron Family Stadium. Last season the team got off to a fantastic start by winning their game against Towson, finishing off at 14-11 for the first time in program history. This set them up for their overall record of 15-5.

The Mount heads into a familiar yet new conference, participating as a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) for the first time since 1998. In their previous two seasons as a MAAC team, they won all 14 of their conference games. Against teams currently in the conference, the Mount holds a combined record of 34-20, and a debut match with Canisius on April 8th.

Twice this year the Mountaineers face off against new opponents. The first will be on the road on March 15 against Old Dominion in Norfolk, Virginia at 1 p.m. The Monarchs will look to rebound off from a season of five wins and 12 losses. One week later the Mount hosts Virginia Tech, another first-time adversary. The Hokies finished an even 9-9 a year ago.

Home games will also include LaSalle (March 4), Navy (Mar. 8), Bucknell (Mar. 11), Virginia Tech (Mar. 22), Niagara (Mar. 25), Iona (April 5), Fairfield (Apr. 12) and Quinnipiac (Apr. 22). The Mountaineers won eight of nine contents in Emmitsburg a season ago, and 80-54 since Waldron Family Stadium opened in 2007.

Mount St. Mary's is led by 9th-year coach Lauren Skellchock. Of the 29 players on the roster, 20 are returnees including All NEC performers Dani Donoghue, Abigail Zeigenfuse, Margaret Lonergan, Erin Anderson, and All-Rookie teammate Lindsay Tolliver. After back-to-back NEC championships, the Mount looks poised and remains hungry for its next championship.
