Emmitsburg, Md. (November 17, 2022) – Mount St. Mary's men's and women's swimming and diving teams take a trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to compete in the F&M invitational, an annual three-day event.
 
Preliminaries start at 10 a.m. each day, while the Finals begin at 6 p.m. each day.

ABOUT THE MOUNT
The Mountaineers' last competition was a dual meet at VMI, on November 5th, where the women's team saw much success, while the men's team lost in a competitive meet.
 
Mount women's swimming and diving won 173-115, the entire team showing prowess in this competition. Senior Montana Griffith broke the school's record for the 3-meter dive scored at 186.90, toppling the previous record held by Laura Kingham's score of 182.45.
 
Meghan Speicher and Christina Lazari each won multiple events. Speicher posted wins in the 200-yard free (1:59.47) and the 100-yard free (54.57), while Lazari won the 50-yard free (25.22) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:30.43).
 
Mount men's swimming & diving lost a close meet, 153-145. Junior Nicholas Santorelli posted wins in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke (52.39 and 1:57.17). Santorelli also helped the team win two team events in the 200 free and the 200-yard medley.
 
PREVIOUS PERFORMANCE
The last time the Mount competed in the Franklin & Marshall Invitational was on November 21, 2021. The Men's team finished with the strongest performance of the meet's history finishing in second, while the women matched their best performance, finishing in third.
 
Nine Mountaineers posted individual wins – five men and four women, all winners' times ranked in the top five for all-time finishes in Mount history.

The Mount swimming & diving teams take a long break before they host Lafayette in a dual meet on January 16th in Emmitsburg, Md. at the ARCC Swimming Pool.
