Emmitsburg, Md, (October 28, 2022) – The Mount men's and women's swim and dive team open at home versus Wagner this weekend at 1 p.m. The home meet is one of three meets at home this season.
 
About the Mount
In Washington D.C, the men's team lost to Howard by a score of 151-67, although they did prove strength in the 4x4 400-yard medley as swimmers Jason Fitch, Aidan Grady, Jacob Wallace, and Austin Toland ranked top 50 nationally tallying a final time of 3:27.83. Aidan Grady also ranked top 50 nationally in the 200-yard breaststroke logging a time of 2:05.99.
 
The women's team lost to Howard by a score of 69-144. Meghan Speicher was among the women's top performers placing first in the 1,000 yard-freestyle tallying a time of 11:15.12. Meghan Speicher, Christina Lazari, Dahna Yoon, and Emiley Lynch placed second in the 4x4 400-yard medley logging a time of 4:06.14.
 
Scouting the Seahawks
The most recent meet Wagner swam in was at Iona. The men's team faced off against Iona, losing by 73 points with a final score of Iona 151.50 – Wagner's 78.50. The women's team competed in a tri-meet as Wagner defeated Sacred heart 142-99, then proceeded to lose against Iona 130-93.
 
All-Time Series
Mount St. Mary's men's team has competed against Wagner only once, that lone meeting being a win for the Mountaineers on October 30, 2021, the score 147.5-108.5. The women's team is 0-9 against Wagner, the last meet also being October 30, 2021, which resulted in a loss, the score 170-61.

The Mount swimming & diving teams travel to Lexington, Va. on November 5 at 1 p.m. to compete in a dual meet versus Virginia Military Institute.
