Mount Women’s Rugby Drops Third Straight Match

EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 17, 2021) – Mount St. Mary's women's rugby fell to Navy 38-22 after taking a 17-7 lead into halftime. The Mountaineers started off the game with a 10-0 lead, but traded tries with the Midshipmen before halftime to lead 17-7. Navy came out of the locker room and went on a 31-0 run before the Mount scored the last try of the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Kameka President started off the scoring with her first try of the season to make 5-0.
  • President scored the second try ten minutes later to increase the Mount's lead to 10-0.  
  • Three minutes later Navy got on the board with their first try and conversion kick to make it 10-7.
  • Lis Madray scored the third try of the game for the Mountaineers and Hannah Orland converted the kick make it 17-7 at half.
  • Navy came out of half and went on a 31-0 run to pull away from the Mountaineers.
  • Christine Ngandu scored the final try for the Mountaineers to reach the final score of 38-22.
NEXT UP
The Mount will return to Echo Field on Saturday, April 24th for a doubleheader against Army starting at 11:00 a.m.
