Colin Kelly and
Carter Nave each moved to the top of the Northeast Conference leader board to pace the Mount St. Mary's track and field teams at the George Mason Spring Invitational on Sunday. Kelly finished in second place in the 800m run while Nave was second in the pole vault.
Kelly finished second in the 800m at the event in a time of 1:50.79, moving him to the top of the NEC performance list. Kelly's time also puts him seventh on the Mount's all-time top 10 list in the 800m run.Â
John Wang added a second-place finish in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 9:31.67.Â
Brian Sagendorf, who broke his own school record two weeks ago in the javelin, finished second at George Mason with a tos of 62.68m (205' 8").Â
Carter Nave also moved to the top of the NEC leader board by finishing second in the pole vault with a mark of 4.73m (15' 6.25").Â
D.J. Hamilton had a good day for the Mount as well, finishing tied for second in the high jump (1.90m, 6' 2.75") and third in the triple jump (14.13m, 46' 4.25").
Tess Long led the Mount women's team with a time of 4:40.41 in the 1,500m run, good for 10th place at the meet. Long's time moves her into third on the NEC performance list.Â
The Mount is back in action on Friday when it hosts the 33-48 Challenge at 1:00 p.m. at Morgan Track on campus.
