LORETTO, Pa. (March 21, 2021) – A strong second half helped drive up the goal total for Mount St. Mary's water polo on Sunday, but they left Loretto with two more defeats and are still seeking their first win as a program.
The team opened with Michigan, and the top 10 team showed their might with a 15-2 triumph. The strong second half came against host Saint Francis U, but they also fell 18-7 in that contest.
Riley Thompson was the high scorer for the Mount with three, scoring once against the Wolverines and twice against the Red Flash.
Rebekka Williams saved 22 shots, with 15 coming in the late game.
The Mount scored six times in the second half, with
Madison Szczublewski joining Thompson with a multi-goal tally.
Their record now 0-11, Mount St. Mary's hopes home cooking holds better fortunes. They make their home debut April 3
rd with a doubleheader against Salem.
