COMPLETE RESULTS
Myrtle Beach, S.C. (March 13, 2021)--Three first-place finishes paced the Mount St. Mary's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams on the final at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge.Â
John Wang won the 3,000-meter run,
Tess Long the 1,500-meter run and
Chalys Caruth the 400-meter dash for the Mountaineers today.
Wang took home first place in the men's 3000-meter with a time 9:03.43 with teammate
Grant West finishing third with a mark of 9:11.72. Caruth won the women's 400-meter with a time of 56.66 seconds while Long won the women's 1,500-meter with a mark of 4:47.16.
For the men's team,
Justyn Seivright was second in the 400-meter hurdles (54.94) and
Colin Kelly fourth in the 1,500-meter (4:01.08). Three Mountaineers finished in the top five in the triple jump with
Dylan LaNoue placing second (14.74m, 48' 4.5"),
Sean Fahey third (14.60m, 47' 11") and
D.J. Hamilton fifth (14.19m, 46' 6.75"). The 4x400-meter relay team of
Ethan Arce,
Todd Charles,
Lewis Kungu and
James Munlyn was second with a mark of 3:28.03. LaNoue added a third-place finish in the high jump (1.98m, 6' 6") as well.
For the women, the Mount had three in the top five in the triple jump as well.Â
Carsyn Hetzler was second (11.01m, 36' 1.5"),
Emma Espina Aller third (10.80m, 35' 5.25") and
Logan Hart fifth (10.71m, 35' 1.75").Â
Sarah Purdy was fourth in the 100m hurdles (16.07) and fifth in the 400m hurdles (1:13.82).Â
Emily Eckard finished third in the discus (37.25m, 122' 2") with the 4x400-meter relay squad of
Dominique Jeffery, Caruth, Purdy and
Jacquelyn Candito finishing second in a time of 4:05.37. The Mount had a trio finish fourth through sixth in the high jump with all three clearing 1.48m (4' 10.75").Â
Kayla Hackett finished fourth,
Jaelyn Chevannes fifth and Hetzler sixth.
The Mount track teams are back in action in Myrtle Beach again next week at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina.
