NFCA RELEASE
October 5, 2021—The Mount St. Mary's softball team earned a spot in the Easton/National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top 10 Academic Team rankings for the 2020-21 school year while 21 Mountaineers were named 2021 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes. The Mountaineers posted a 3.737 team grade-point average in 2020-21, the sixth-best mark in the nation.Â
Stanford topped the list with a 3.846 GPA, followed by Southern Illinois (3.806), Green Bay (3.794), Michigan State (3.784(, Maine (3.774), the Mount (3.737), Hartford (3.730), Toledo (3.708), Saint Louis (3.707) and Bowling Green (3.704).
Student-athletes with a 3.50 GPA or higher in 2020-21 were named Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes.  Mount St. Mary's had 21 student-athletes earn the honor, including Amanda Berkley, Kaia Bonshock, Tori Bowles, Amaya Bowman, Lexi Donovan, Molly Dustin, Daisy Gardner, Mariah Godde, Shelbee Holcomb, Kassidy Johnson, Maggie Kane, Elizabeth King, Erin Krizmanich, Vanessa Martin, Kirsten Mumma, Avery Neuhart, Abigayle Perry, Kaylee Stoner, Julia Vincent, Jordan Weaver and Zoe Wilcox.
On the field, Mount St. Mary's finished the 2021 season with a 19-25 overall record and an 11-13 mark in Northeast Conference play, missing the NEC playoffs by percentage points.
